Halloween!

This year we went to trunk or treat at church the night before Halloween and then on All Hallows Eve, we had a few friends over to hang out and decorate cookies and watch scary movies!

When Black is No Longer Slimming...

Here's me at almost 30 weeks (29 weeks and 5 days).

...Here's the pic that David liked out of the 256-ish it took to get a decent one of me... again, I'm not very photogenic...

I'm really excited because next week Kim Brock (the fabulous photographer who did our wedding) is taking Christmas card photos for us, so maybe she'll work a miracle and I'll look like a supermodel mom-to-be in them!
Not too much is going on right now, just waiting and counting down. Of course there are a million things to do, but no time to do them. The nursery is on hold until the crib comes in the first week of November, my last day of work is anticipated to be November 30th, someone at the office is keeping a running countdown till my last day... not sure if I should be offended, but positive that I don't care! I'm not sure what I'll do for a month or so before little BBG graces us with her presence, but I doubt it will be much since I'll just keep getting bigger!

And So it Begins!

What begins?

The weight gain... the expansion... I can only assume that these will be followed shortly by the waddle, the stretch marks and the discomfort. Why do I say it begins now? Because this morning I woke up looking like this...








Did I eat a Watermelon in my sleep last night? Or was my belly bitten by 30,000 ants that I was unaware of? I don't think so, but there she blows. I'm 25 weeks tomorrow and at my last appointment 3 weeks ago, I had gained a whopping net 2 pounds. I have a feeling the result will be quite different next Wednesday at my appointment...But I'm finally feeling fabulous, since about 20 weeks, things have only been getting better. I'm so excited for December!
Also I know my hair is a hot mess here, but I've got an appointment with Hilary on Saturday, so hopefully she'll... uh ... handle that... yeah.

Gifts from Katie...

When Katie Newman found out I was expecting, I know she thought of but one thing... how to force my child to suffer through brain development limiting headbands topped with enormous head ornaments, just the way she has forced hers to. How do I know this? She told me. After months of me mocking her and her giant Utah handmade headbands, she promised she would make ones even more rediculous for my child.
"What if it's a boy?" I asked?
"I'll put something boyish on it" she said
"Like a spider?" I joked....



Perfect...
I can just see her coming home from the hospital in this, wearing the glow-in-the-dark skeleton shirt which was the first thing that we bought our little girl.

And just for good measure, she made me the most giant flower headband that you ever did see!


Thank you, Katie. You will make this child a girly-girl in spite of my sick sense of humor.

23 weeks

I'm probably the most un-photogenic pregnant person ever, but here I am! As I'm typing this I am 90 days away from full term! I've been feeling really great lately. Just have to stay off my feet to a small degree and make sure I'm within shouting distance of a toilet and I'm good to go!

We're having a baby girl!!! For those who didn't know, we're due to have a baby right around Christmas this year. We're almost half way through! I can't believe it! I've been feeling MUCH better lately and we're both thrilled with the little kicks and nudges we've (I've) been feeling lately. She's definitely going to be an active young 'un!!! She loves to kick my tickle spots and let me know which foods are her favorites by kicking me on the stomach while I'm eating ;-) Now please enjoy some ultrasound photos...Here's baby girl jumping up and down... She was so active during the ultrasound that between her calisthenics and the fact that she swam away from the ultrasound the whole time, it took 25 minutes to determine the gender! Everything looked healthy and great!

Me and Dave went antiquing in Thomasville with my parents last weekend... next time Dave's staying at home ...what a buzz kill. He didn't like ANYTHING I picked out!

And as for the rest of you... I like ellipses... that's something you'll need to accept on this blog. I don't believe that the simple, common period translates into the appropriate dramatic pause that I employ when speaking ... so ... ellipses. E lip Seas... I love you guys!
