Sweet Little Boy

The more I think about last night, the more excited I am. What a sweet face this boy has! It was so much fun to see him moving around in there! David and I were joined by Rosalie, Gigi, Poppy and Nana at The Prenatal Experience for our 3D ultrasound last night. What awesome technology! It's like magic. We all agreed I think that he looks more like me than Rosalie did, but he still does look like both of us. We think he'll have the same mouth and chin as Rosalie, which is wonderful ;-)

Rosalie pointed out "Baby Belly's" eyes, nose and mouth and even said "he's sleeping!" when she saw that his eyes were closed. I think it's amazing that she could pick out the features and see the baby in such an abstract-ish image! She did great, but wanted to sit right on the bed next to me and watch the monitor instead of the projection. She kept reaching out to grab the ultrasound wand and then would snatch her hand back at the last minute!

Catch up?

It seems like all of my blogs are "catch up" blogs these days. I just don't have time anymore!

So... I'm pregnant! The reason I haven't posted that is simple.
I was too busy puking! The few times during the day that I didn't feel like lying on the floor next to the toilet, I was doing my best to get Rosalie out and about and entertain her!

And the reason I chose today to post, is that we had our anatomy scan ultrasound today and everything looked perfect. I told the sonographer (the same one who did Rosalie's, I just LOVE her!) that I wanted to try and guess the gender before she told us....

As it was pretty obvious, I guessed right! My kids are just NOT shy about their stuff! I'm glad that It's been clear and easy to tell both times, but sheesh! I think it needs a censor bar!

Rosalie thought the whole thing was pretty cool, though at one point she threw a toy bottle at me because I wasn't listening to her demands for me to have a "sippy"!

Baby Boy looks healthy and perfect and very relaxed...

In this shot he's just resting one hand by his head and the other, you can just see his little fingers on top of his head. He's resting his head on his arm :-) He must have been sleeping, I think. Rosalie ran away from the ultrasound noise whenever she got scanned (which was kind of a lot!) but little man just lay there and relaxed. I maybe saw him move about three times.

Everyone is really excited about this little guy, we can't wait for him to come out and play!

What she's up to this Summer!

Cleaning the house is a daily activity, she vacuums and dusts (with a baby wipe) all by herself, with no prompting! I'm very impressed with her dedication! And a little jealous! I certainly don't have that kind of dedication!

She also takes very good care of her baby. She changes her diaper...

... I'm sure there's a ton more, it seems like there's a new one every day, but these ones are said most often!
Another new thing is taking a deep breath. Whenever she starts to cry over something silly, I tell her to take a deep breath, and we take breaths until she stops crying, and then we talk out the problem, or just hug it out after she calms down. It usually takes just one or two breaths, but what I think is so cool is that a couple of times this week, she's started getting upset and has stopped and taken a couple of deep breaths herself, ending the would be tears and moved on to a different activity or come and asked me for help. I love her! She'll never do anything wrong ;-)

Ugh....

The "ugh" isn't because of anything in my life, it's because I'm ALWAYS so far behind in blogging that I have nothing to say! So much is happened that I I've forgotten half of it, and the other half is so outdated that it doesn't make sense to post anymore! I guess that's the life with a one year old though! So...
Me and Rosalie went to Orlando for 5 days with my mom and Jake and Starleigh and the kids. We went to the Magic Kingdom (Rosalie's first visit!), and Animal Kingdom. It was SOOO hot at Magic Kingdom! But Rosalie really liked the Jungle Cruise and the Merry Go Round, but as hot as it was, I think that she got really worn out and we only stayed from about 10:00 to 2:00. Animal Kingdom has a lot more shade and so we were able to stay from about 9:30 to 4:00! Rosalie even took a nap there while we stopped for lunch!
Of the whole trip I think her very favorite part though, was the horse drawn carriage we saw walking into the Magic Kingdom! She loves horses and when she saw one UP CLOSE she was so excited and went crazy making her little horsey-trot sound! I wish I could show you pictures, but my new camera won't load onto blogger! I'll have to try and figure that out!

She's so fun! Her favorite things right now:

BALLS! (still going strong),
her new vacuum cleaner, she likes to use hers while we use ours
necklaces and bracelets - sometimes she throws a fit if I try to leave the house without "accessorizing" sometimes that includes her purse... don't know where that comes from!),
throwing things... I may foster that one a little bit.
She still loves babies and dogs and fish. If the dog across the street goes into the house where she can't watch him anymore, she cries and barks....
She loves water! Today I was letting her wash the sidewalk chalk off her hands in the spigot, and I turned away for a second to yell something at Dave, who was blowing off the driveway, and I saw his eyes get big and he pointed at her... she had turned the water from a trickle to a GUSH and was ec.stat.ic letting it soak her to the bone! Silly girl! We bought a water table today, so I hope that will sate her water needs and keep us cool too!
There are a million cute things she's doing, of course, but she just woke up!

So I thought I had lots of photos to upload, but for some reason, the pictures from my newer camera won't upload onto blogger... hmmm....

Cute in these pajamas! She found this chair upstairs after I had gotten it out for one of her littler baby friends who came over, and loved that it was Rosalie sized (kinda!) She loves to sit in it and play with toys, or drink her "sips" I'll be looking next weekend in Thomasville for a chair of her very own!

She was making her own Easter egg hunt when I was putting out the decorations.

Coloring. Currently her favorite INDOOR activity. She loves to color with people. She watches them draw a picture, then proceeds to color right on top of it! I don't know if she's trying to copy it or make it better!

Update?

So... I haven't blogged in a WHILE! I know! But we've been keeping ourselves busy! A one year old is, overnight it seems, a brand new baby! Or should I say kid???? I am having so much fun with Rosalie these days, what a great age! There's no way I can catch up on all of the amazing, cute, exciting things she's done in the last couple of months, so I'll just have to try and catch up on what she's doing now... hopefully I'll be able to go back and review some later!

Every morning, we wake up around 7:30 or 8:00 and Rosalie has a pancake. As soon as she's done, Rosalie walks over and brings me her shoes. She's ready to go outside! I try to have something planned most days, we go to story time at the library twice a week and we have plenty of play dates with friends and lunch with grandparents and there's always the park down the road and the driveway if nothing else... She's down to one nap a day, which is nice, I actually look forward to when there are no naps, I hate having to plan the day around two hours at home right in the middle!
She's saying several words, but her favorite is "baybee" She pushes her little baby doll in a stroller and whenever she sees a baby anywhere, at church, in a book, on tv.... she launches into an excited "baby? baby? baby? baby?" Sometimes for as much as 10 minutes. She LOVES babies! Hopefully she still will when we decide to have baby #2!
The other night she pooped and then walked over to her diapering basket, pulled out her changing pad, unfolded it and patted it, just the way we do when we change her! She's so smart, and I love watching her learn and imitate us (also scary!)
One more thing. Rosalie DEFINITELY has a sweet tooth! She can sniff out sugar in seconds, so I have to hide it really well or she'll flip out if I don't give it to her! If she sees ice cream or cookies especially she starts saying "hmm? hmm? hmm? hmm?" sounding like the seagulls on Finding Nemo.... it's cute but also not a very healthy addiction! She doesn't get much of it, but whenever she does it's the highlight of her day!
There are a million other things, hopefully I'll get to document them soon! I'll also try to post some pictures!

Nothing

I haven't uploaded ANY pictures to my computer so far this year! I know! It's rediculous! But Rosalie is so close to taking off, and she's already so fast! She's starting to take about 6 steps at a time, although she usually recognizes that she's still much faster at crawling, so she uses that for transportation. Walking is still a funny little novelty trick in her mind I think. We have LOTS of baby-proofing to do!

One of my New Years Resolutions this year is to get Rosalie out of our house more and playing with other kids. It started out with a sputter instead of a bang, since we were sick one at a time for practically the first two weeks, but now I think we're getting somewhere! I have to be brave and venture out of my safe, clean house to places where there are *eek!* germzzzz.... I prefer play dates at peoples houses, but we're going to have to go the public place route (starting with the library for story time I think) because really I don't have enough friends to fill up my time) But it 's what she needs and I can't protect her forever I guess! Eventually she'll be in nursery and she'll be sick constantly anyway from what I hear!

We're doing well weaning, but here's my question for you moms out there... How can I get her to drink cows' milk? She gags on it, once I seriously thought she was going to throw up! I've tried chocolate, Strawberry, 2% (yeah, I know it doesn't really count) and Kefir milk, but she won't take more than a sip, and now she doesn't even try anything if she can see it's not water. She doesn't really even like juice. She does, however, love smoothies and milkshakes, but I don't think making those 4 times a day is going to work! Did you have success with any little trick?

Project Rosalie - 51 Weeks / Baby's 1st Christmas!

We spent this Christmas at Nana and Papa's house in Palatka! We had so much fun! Rosalie was the center of attention because she was the only grandbaby over first thing Christmas morning and she loved it! She also loved later when a bunch of her cousins came over to open gifts!

Project Rosalie - 50 Weeks / Birthday Party!

This week we had Rosalie's First Birthday Party! It was so much work, but SOOO much fun! I loved every second of it.I had a lot of help from friends and family, which I appreciated more than they'll ever know!
