Project Rosalie - 12 Weeks Old

Rosalie is just getting cuter and sweeter every day! She's a lot less clingy these days, (sad for me, but good for the house!) and likes to sit in her bumbo or bouncy seat and watch us go about our business. She's chewing and drooling fiercely these days, making me wonder if she's working on moving some of those teeth, but they certainly aren't coming through any time soon!
Little Rose is so so close to laughing! She gets so excited, but she just squeals and gasps and screeches... she'll figure it out soon! She's also really close to rolling from her back to her tummy, she can get to her side and almost over when she's really motivated. I'm worried, because what motivates her is that she likes to suck on her co-sleeper sheet (yeah right, it's the sheet in my bed, I'm just slightly embarrassed that I can't get her to sleep in that darn co-sleeper), so when she is on her tummy, she buries her face into the mattress/blanket.... that's not safe! I love, love, love being a mom and I'm excited about my first Easter with my little honey bunny next weekend! I'll have to post pics of her Easter basket that I decorated!

Project Rosalie - 11 Weeks Old

Rosalie's Room... Forever Unfinished?

So I finally got the flowers up on the wall! I know, I know ... my baby is 11 weeks old, you'd think her nursery would have been finished about... 11 weeks ago? But despite the fact that Rosalie was born a mere one day before her due date... I wasn't ready! So here they are, thanks Cally for your help!

I'm pleased with the result. BUT, I'm less than pleased with her room right now. It's missing STUFF. I'm not sure what to add. I thought that with the crib in it the room would be tiny, but actually it seems like there's a big gulf of space in the middle of the room and there are gaping holes in the layout. I'm not sure what I'll do to make myself feel better about it. I don't want too much on the walls, because of the mural-ly thing, but it needs MORE.

Rosalie fell asleep here on the couch today... All by herself! just sitting there cozied up waiting for a new outfit (she'd decided she needed a wardrobe change and let me know by pooping all over the footie she was wearing). What a big girl!

I sure love this little one.

Project Rosalie - Week 10!

This week Miss Rosalie started talking to us a little bit more. I just love hearing her cute little voice! She's really such a good baby, getting more and more content to just sit and watch her surroundings!

Rose loves to be read to, she can listen to three big kid books in a row and looks at the pages one by one enjoying the story line and pretty pictures! She also likes to get out and go for walks in her stroller! Sometimes with mom, dad and Stella, sometimes with mom, Cally and Logan. But as usual she can't be like your average baby and fall asleep in her stroller... or being rocked... how do I get this little one to sleep these days? Get this... I sit her on the end of my knee (not LAY her, but SIT her...) and bouncy bouncy baby her like you would if you were playing ride that horsey... somehow instead of an invigorating game for her.... it means nap time. Her eyes get heavy and she just konks out!!! Silly girl! Mommy's calves hurt!

Rosalie's Baby Blessing

Rosalie was blessed today in church, what a great experience! David's parents and brother Craig came and stayed with us for the weekend so that they could be there today and our friend Scott Nichols also participated in the blessing along with our bishop!

Afterwards at least three of those handsome gentlemen informed me that they almost DROPPED my baby because she started stretching while they were blessing her!

I had such a hard time hearing the blessing (our ward is particularly full of adorable, loud kiddos), but luckily David's mom and sweet Sister Pagett helped out with the note taking!

Being blessed must be exhausting! She was even too tired to put her arms down before falling asleep in the car!

Project Rosalie - 9 Weeks Old!

That girl is too sweet!

This week Rosalie went from hardly lifting her head up off the ground at all (I was starting to think I had delayed her with not being able to do tummy time much until just recently) to having her little head lifted ALL the way up looking straight ahead! Big girl! She's only done it twice like that, but she is so strong!
She also had quite an icky growth spurt this week, almost a pound! It seems like it lasted FOREVER! everything changed one at a time: her eating, sleeping and ... other habits changed bit by bit, so she's been a little grumpy, but I'm finally feeling like my happy baby is back and I'm thrilled for her sake!
She is sleeping well, usually only waking up to eat once in 8 hours, twice at the most and is awake and alert much more now.
We had our first trip to the mall this week, and she did great until we te in the food court. I think the hustle and bustle was just too much for her since we really don't leave the house much! She just had the biggest saucer eyes and kept making that uniquely Rosalie "I'm about to cry face" that those of you who know her will be able to picture. She thought all those people were SCARY! So did I....
And last of all, she has started chewing on any fabric she can get her mouth on when she's tired or bored... so when you see me and my shoulder is SOAKED... that's why.

I know I changed the numbering system... don't be confused, I just thought it would be easier. It had that century thing going on you know? How the eighteenth century is actually the 1700s? I've never been a fan of that, so I didn't want to perpetuate the confusion...
