A Weekend in Heaven!

Here are some pictures from our wonderful Second Anniversary trip to Apalachicola. We absolutely loved it. It is such a cute little town, everything is within walking distance and for some reason the restaurants are just about the best thing ever. The food was wonderful! Especially at "The Owl Cafe". There were so many restaurants where we wanted to eat (well ... it's not like there were THAT many, considering that the entire commercial district is about three square blocks) but we just didn't have enough room in our bellies!
We stayed at the Coombs House Inn which is a Bed and Breakfast (great bed, great breakfast) about a block away from everything. The main house was full, but the room that we chose on-line was in their second house, and we were the only ones in the whole house for most of the weekend! We had an entire half of the Inn to ourselves! I absolutely loved our room, we were in a corner on the second floor and we had a little bay window, so it was so bright and cheery! My very favorite part of Apalachicola was waking up to church bells every morning! I kept smacking David "Do you hear them? Do you hear that?" ... He was not as intrigued as I was.
So basically, the trip was perfect, it was refreshing to be in such a quiet little laidback town where everything closed after dinner time and Nothing is opened on Sundays. It's not the place to go if you want to be entertained. We spent time walking through gardens/parks an even reading on the big front porch together until we felt like it was dinner time. I didn't look at my watch the whole time I was there. It was like going back in time. Just what I needed to relax from a long year of work and worry. I think we will DEFINITELY go back!

Well, it seems like everyone in Tallahassee has already posted their TSO pics/videos, but it was so awesome we're going to post ours too! David and I went with Seth, Melissa, Hannah and Chris and we had so much fun! We had great seats towards the back on the floor, so we were close enough to get the full effects of the light and music show. I thought I was going to be deaf, blind and mute at work on Tuesday!
One of the sexy dancing/singing girls ran down the aisle and pointed right at Dave while she was singing... he's still talking about it.
It was really fun. We'll definitely go again if they come back next year!

Halloween '08

So a few weeks ago we mentioned that we were going to try and have a Halloween party with some close friends. We had a great time (although I think I enjoyed planning it the most!) I was a little disappointed that the boys just wanted to watch scary movies all night, I was hoping that there would be a little bit more socializing, but I guess it doesn't matter as long as everyone had fun, right? Melissa and Seth won the most inventive costume award, combining their forces to become a Eucalyptus tree and it's resident Koala bear. Dave dressed as a black hole, and I was the world (get it? He was sucking me in!)
I absolutely loved the mummy hot dogs and other festive goodies! They were delicious as well as decorative! I'll miss Halloween until next year! David also wanted to make sure that we posted some more pics of the house now that he's gotten the lawn in better shape! Be sure and let him know how impressed you are! ; )

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday!!

David's Grandma and Grandpa had their 60th Anniversary Party this weekend and here are all the great grand-kids getting down to Uncle Bruce's band. It was a really fun party and we're glad we were able to get down to Palatka to celebrate. It was a big weekend for us and we're officially Aunt Kaitlyn and Uncle Dave to one more little one. Welcome baby Sawyer!

Kaitlyn is now officially "Contract Coordinator"! WooHoo!

Summer 2008

Introduction

Hi. We're David and Kaitlyn Herrington. We are currently living in a brand new house(!) in Tallahasee, FL and are both working hard for now. David works at the Florida Board of Bar Examiners as an Analyst II and teaches in Elders Quorum, and Kaitlyn works as a Contract Accountant for WRScompass and is a very overwhelmed Primary Chorister. We have a little old lady dog named Stella. We both like Sushi, foreign films and long walks on the beach ....

Now that the introductions are over the real blogging can begin. We are so excited about Halloween! We decorated for FHE last night and realized that our decorations from the apartment don't make much of a dent in the new house... so a-shopping we shall go! We are planning to have a Halloween party if Melissa and Seth don't pansy out on us!
