I haven't uploaded ANY pictures to my computer so far this year! I know! It's rediculous! But Rosalie is so close to taking off, and she's already so fast! She's starting to take about 6 steps at a time, although she usually recognizes that she's still much faster at crawling, so she uses that for transportation. Walking is still a funny little novelty trick in her mind I think. We have LOTS of baby-proofing to do!
One of my New Years Resolutions this year is to get Rosalie out of our house more and playing with other kids. It started out with a sputter instead of a bang, since we were sick one at a time for practically the first two weeks, but now I think we're getting somewhere! I have to be brave and venture out of my safe, clean house to places where there are *eek!* germzzzz.... I prefer play dates at peoples houses, but we're going to have to go the public place route (starting with the library for story time I think) because really I don't have enough friends to fill up my time) But it 's what she needs and I can't protect her forever I guess! Eventually she'll be in nursery and she'll be sick constantly anyway from what I hear!
We're doing well weaning, but here's my question for you moms out there... How can I get her to drink cows' milk? She gags on it, once I seriously thought she was going to throw up! I've tried chocolate, Strawberry, 2% (yeah, I know it doesn't really count) and Kefir milk, but she won't take more than a sip, and now she doesn't even try anything if she can see it's not water. She doesn't really even like juice. She does, however, love smoothies and milkshakes, but I don't think making those 4 times a day is going to work! Did you have success with any little trick?

Kiley didn't totally love milk until she was completely weaned, but I tried carnation instant breakfast mixed in with hers, and she liked that sometimes. It was always hit or miss, but when she knew she wasn't getting the boob anymore, so took to the milk pretty quickly. And come over to my house!
Come over to my house too!
My SIL uses almond milk - maybe the taste is more sweet and similar to mommy's milk than cow's milk? And, like Katie, I used (and still use!) Carnation Instant Breakfasts. My boys won't drink regular milk. And Savannah will only take it from a bottle....but she'll take the Carnation milk out of a cup with a straw. But since you already tried chocolate milk, that may not help...? I will say though, that giving it to them in a cup with a straw (we use the take-and-toss kind with the straw top, but with disposable, bendable straws instead of the ones that come with) was the trick for us. They wouldn't take anything other than water or water-juice out of a sippy cup.
Good luck finding what works for you!
I have no idea how to get your kid to drink milk BUT I would love to hang out. If you're serious about exposing her to germs then you should definitely bring her to my filthy house!
Something my friend did was feed her baby Yo Baby yogurt for the nutrition part. I don't know if Rose likes yogurt, but I figured it was worth a shot:) good luck!
Thanks guys! Rosalie does eat YoBaby yogurt every day, so at least there's that! But I'll keep trying different suggestions. My goal is to wean by March completely so maybe Rose will be like Kiley and drink it after that!
